My paintings are inspired by a special place. The Old Boston Neck Road, a hidden pathway, was once a major highway during colonial times. Now, it is overgrown and winds through hardwood trees and underbrush and leads out to opens fields

The energy and beauty found in the natural world is the inspiration for my work. I use a whimsy of calligraphic brush strokes and layering colors, which renders an implied realism. My process is a leap of faith. I recognize that this process of making pictures is a partnership with oils, brush, canvas, and my muse.

This diptych, “Open Fields” received “honorable mention” in the 2011 Open All Media Juried Show of the South County Arts Association.
